The Orthodox Fasting Calendar
What kind of day is today — strict, wine & oil, fish, dairy, or fast-free? Pick a month for the rule on every day, on both the New and Old calendars.
Guidelines, not law — your priest’s word comes first. Fasting practice varies by jurisdiction, parish, and person. These pages show the common traditional guideline (the monastic standard most calendars print); where jurisdictions differ, that is a question for your priest, not for an app.
New Calendar (Revised Julian) — kept by most Greek, Antiochian, and OCA parishes. Fixed feasts land on the civil date shown.
Old Calendar (Julian, currently +13 days) — kept by ROCOR, Serbian, and other parishes. The same feast falls 13 days later on the civil calendar.
